Rover 100

Rover 100 History

The Rover 100 was a facelifted version of the Rover Metro and hit the salesrooms in 1994 although it was being sold overseas from 1990 as the Rover 100.

The cars mechanics staying much the same from the Rover Metro model, but with a facelifted and more rounded exterior with new bumpers, wings, doors and bonnets the shell itself remained unchanged.

The car retained the K series engine as introduced 4 years earlier in 1990, and proved to be a cheap success for Rover until 1998 when a dramtically bad NCAP crash test reesulted in its withdrawl from sale.

Many fine examples remain today, often with very low mileages and offer superb value in the second-hand sales market and relatively refinement compared to some similar cars.
